Woman Hurt in Four-Vehicle Crash on Capitol Dr

Milwaukee, WI (October 20, 2026) – A woman was taken to a trauma center after a four-vehicle wreck at 35th Street and Capitol Drive on Saturday, October 17.

Milwaukee Police and emergency units rushed to the scene and found the woman was conscious and took her to the hospital for further treatment.

The circumstances that led to the four vehicles colliding remain under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the woman as she recovers.

Who Pays When Several Drivers Share Fault in Milwaukee, WI?

Under Wisconsin law, each driver found at fault is generally responsible for only their own percentage of the damages, unless that driver is found 51 percent or more at fault. An injured person can recover if their own fault is not greater than the other party’s, and any award is reduced by their share.

Several drivers means several insurers, and each may point toward the others. Insurers compare statements, vehicle damage, and any available video to decide how responsibility should be divided.

When more than one company may handle a claim, an injured person can hear different versions of the same story. Keeping a record of every call, claim number, and adjuster name helps keep those versions straight.

Evidence helps settle those percentages. Photos of where vehicles ended up, witness contact details, and medical records tied to the injuries all give a claim something concrete to rest on.

Wisconsin generally allows three years to file an injury lawsuit, and a Milwaukee personal injury lawyer who reviews the claim to spot extra insurance, such as underinsured motorist coverage, that applies when the at-fault drivers carry only minimum limits.
