Oak Creek, WI (July 27, 2026) – A deputy and his K9 partner were injured Monday morning, July 27, after their squad car was rear-ended while responding to an earlier crash on I-94 northbound near Drexel Ave.
The rear-end happened around 4:30 a.m. as the deputy was preparing to close lanes for the initial wreck. He suffered a non-life-threatening injury and remains hospitalized for treatment. His K9 partner was also hurt but has since been cleared by a veterinarian and is resting at home.
A man, woman, and small child inside the vehicle that struck the squad car were all taken to a hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
