Milwaukee, WI (June 30, 2025) – A man suffered severe injuries in a fiery crash early Saturday morning, June 28, on Interstate 43 near Brown Deer Road. The collision occurred just before 1 a.m. in a construction zone along the northbound lanes.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the crash began when a car struck a construction vehicle parked inside the active work zone. The only worker in that vehicle suffered a concussion but did not require hospitalization. The man driving the car that caused the crash sustained life-threatening injuries and was placed on a ventilator. His wife, who was in the passenger seat, was not hurt.
Shortly after the initial impact, a second vehicle carrying three teenagers returning from Summerfest crashed into the first car. None of the teens were injured.

A video recorded by witness Marcus Grant shows a group of good Samaritans pulling the unconscious driver from the burning vehicle just seconds before it was fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after, and all lanes reopened by 7 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
